Global health

mini传媒入口 aims to build the capacity of the O&G workforce in Pacific Island countries through support for training, education and research.

mini传媒入口, members and trainees contribute to women鈥檚 health around the world. They have worked or continue to work in 50 countries outside of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, supporting global women鈥檚 health via workforce capacity building, providing clinical care, screening, health promotion, and development of guidelines.


What we do

We support Pacific O&G trainees and specialists by:

offering mini传媒入口 Associate Membership to Pacific O&G specialists

providing access to mini传媒入口 resources and scholarships

working in collaboration with local, regional and international partners, including Pacific Medical Schools, O&G Societies and Ministries of Health, Medical Colleges within Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, and non-government organisations working in the Pacific

raising awareness about global women’s health issues

We provide resources, scholarships, networking and research support for the O&G training programs at the University of Papua New Guinea School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Fiji National University College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

Apply for a scholarship

For clinicians in the Pacific

We offer the following scholarships to Pacific O&G trainees and specialists to support their training and professional development.

mini传媒入口 Pacific Scholarship (State and Territory Committees and Te K膩hui Oranga 艒 Nuku)
University of PNG and Fiji National University O&G trainees, and recently-graduated O&G specialists can apply for mini传媒入口 Pacific Scholarships to attend mini传媒入口 events in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
mini传媒入口 Pacific Associate member CPD Scholarship
Pacific Associate members can apply for this scholarship to attend the mini传媒入口 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in Australia.
The Anatomy of Complications Workshop Pacific Scholarship
Current or recently graduated Master of Medicine (O&G) trainees from an eligible Pacific medical school may be nominated to attend the Anatomy of Complications Workshop (ACW) in Perth, Western Australia, with free registration, and funding for travel and accommodation.
mini传媒入口 Brian Spurrett Fellowship
Pacific doctors and nurses can apply for this Fellowship to participate in CPD (usually to attend the mini传媒入口 Annual Scientific Meeting in Australia).
mini传媒入口 Academic Fellowship
Newly-appointed O&G academics at University of PNG and Fiji National University may be nominated for a mini传媒入口 Academic Fellowship by their Heads of O&G.
mini传媒入口 Book Prize
Recent graduates of University of PNG and Fiji National University Master of Medicine (O&G) and Diploma of O&G courses may be nominated for the mini传媒入口 Book Prize by their Heads of O&G.

For clinicians in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand

We also support Fellows and trainees from Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to participate in international O&G conferences, and further their career goals with travel funding.

mini传媒入口 NSW State Committee Travelling Scholarship
Two $10,000 (or one $20,000) awards are available to New South Wales-based trainees for the purpose of travelling to train in a developing county in the Asia-Pacific region.
Brown Craig Travelling Fellowship
Early-career mini传媒入口 Fellows and Advanced Fmini传媒入口 trainees can apply for one of two $5,000 travel Fellowships for study or presentation of a scientific paper in O&G.
Mizuno-Ratnam Young Gynaecologist Award
mini传媒入口 Fellows and Fmini传媒入口 trainees under 40 years of age can apply to be funded to attend the biennial AOFOG Congress.


Join the Global Health Facebook group

Our private Global Health Facebook is open to Pacific Associate members, Pacific O&G trainees, as well as members and trainees based in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

The group provides O&G clinicians across the Pacific, Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand the opportunity to engage with each other, share information, and participate in discussions in a supportive environment.


Contribute to O&G Magazine

Do you have an interest in global women’s health or have experience working or volunteering in low and middle-income countries?

is a fantastic print and online platform to highlight global women鈥檚 health issues or initiatives. If you don鈥檛 have time to prepare a written contribution, you can be interviewed and have an article written for you.
